CherylRose is worried about purchasing two half fare Swiss rail cards from HappyRail.com, as she hasn't received her tickets despite her credit card being charged. After reaching out for help, she managed to resolve the issue and received her passes after contacting her credit card company.
Key takeaways:
Check your spam folder if you don't receive an email confirmation after ordering your Swiss travel passes.
If you don't hear back from HappyRail, try contacting them via live chat or phone for faster service.
Adding HappyRail's domain to your email whitelist might help prevent future email issues.

I went online to purchase two half fare Swiss rail cards four days ago and happyrail.com came up. I had not heard of them but the website seemed fine apart from a spelling mistake for registration. The site said e-delivery would be less than one hour. I went ahead and ordered two passes and the process did the first one and asked for payment which I did and then it said the process was complete. My credit card has been debited but I have received no ticket. I have written to their website twice but have received no response. Is this a hoax company?

Hi CherylRose-
Welcome to my Swiss Alps.
<<“Is this a hoax company?”>>
Sorry to hear about your problems. I know that the moderators have good relations with Happy Rail, and will surely follow up.
I, personaly, had excellent service from them. And, they went out of their way to do a good job on a not-very-large purchase that had some complexities.

Hi Cheryl Rose,
That’s unfortunate and not the normal procedure! No worries though, HappyRail is legitimate and part of a tour operator experienced in train travel for nearly two decades.
There have been a couple of cases where both the ordered pass and HappyRail’s e-mails ended up in the spam folder of customers. Did you check there?
If all else fails then please let me know your order number if you have one. Then I can get in touch with them to sort this out.

Thank you for your helpful reply. I followed the link and wrote again outlining the order in detail. After no response or acknowledgement that they had received my query for another 24 hours I approached my credit card company to start the process for a payment reversal and I received the pass a few hours later. I appreciate your forum as it was a relief to find that happyrail was a legitimate company and to be given a process to resolve the issue.

Hi Cheryl Rose,
Glad to help and glad to hear it’s solved! Still a bit weird that you had such a hard time getting in touch with them. So there was no e-mail in your spam folder? If you have an order ID please let me know; I’d like to double check with them what happened.

No, there was no email in my spam folder so no order number or any acknowledgement. The only way I could show that a pass had been ordered was the payment via the credit card.

Hi Cheryl Rose,
Just some additional information: HappyRail searched for your case and found that they sent 3 e-mails to you. Most likely your e-mail provider (Yahoo) blocked those mails, not moving them to spam but an actual block. We have had similar issues various times when sending e-mail from MySwissAlps. Anyway, HappyRail did now sent you an e-mail from another e-mail address, which hopefully is delivered to you. If not I’d recommend to use their live chat or phone, should you have further questions. Adding their domain happyrail.com to your Yahoo whitelist, if there is one, could help.
Enjoy your trip!
