Jungfrau Region Passes
A traveler is planning a trip for two adults and two grandchildren to the Interlaken area from August 25th to 30th. They want to explore using cableways and trains but prefer a multiday pass to avoid buying individual tickets. They are specifically asking about the Swiss Half Fare Card and its compatibility with discounts for the Jungfrau Joch.
- The Swiss Family Card applies only to children, stepchildren, and foster children, so it won't cover grandchildren.
- Consider purchasing Regional Passes like the Bernese Oberland or Jungfrau Railways Passes for the adults and Grandchild travelcards for the children to ensure free travel.
- If you choose the Swiss Half Fare Card, it won't provide free unlimited travel for the adults but can still offer discounts on tickets.

Ok Newbie here so please be gentle.
We are 2 adults & 2 Grandchildren who will be visiting the Interlaken area between 25th & 30th August 2014 arriving in the region by car from Germany.
We wish to travel in the region using the cableways and trains as the fancy takes us and have no wish to buy tickets for every journey so we are looking for a multiday pass, we also want to visit the Jungfrau Joch.
So am I correct in assuming the following;
Buying a Swiss half fare card would enable us to get a family card?
The Family Card would enable the children to travel for free on ALL (including the Jungfrau train) when an adult buys a ticket?
The half fare card would enable 1 adult to purchase a 6 day Jungfraubahnen pass for chf185, whilst the other adult buys the same pass for chf250?
What discount would this give us on the tickets to the Jungfrau Joch and would the children travel free on the family card.
