Lake Zurich cruise reservations required?

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is asking whether they need to reserve a spot in advance for a boat cruise. They are looking for guidance on how many days ahead to make a reservation. The general consensus is that reservations are not needed.

Key takeaways:
  • Reservations are not necessary for boat cruises.
  • For a nostalgic experience, try the steam boats 'Stadt Zurich' and 'Stadt Rapperswil' on Lake Zurich from June to September.
  • A ZVV-ticket allows free travel on boats, buses, and cable cars in the Zurich area.
  • If returning from Rapperswil, be cautious of the bridge after 4.30 PM as it can get crowded.

If you plan your boat trip in the months June – September, you should choose an old nostalgic steam boat. There are two on the lake Zurich: They are called “Stadt Zurich” from 1910 and “Stadt Rapperswil” from 1914. They have 2 classes, 1st (upper deck) and 2nd class If you buy a ZVV-ticket: http://www.zvv.ch/zvv-assets/abos-und-tickets/zonen/tarifzon en_dez_15.pdf you pay nothing and the ticket is also guilty on boats, busses, cable-cars in the whole Zurich (+lake) area.

Have a good trip!!! Myself was living in Kilchberg at the lake near Zurich. There is the first chocolate fabric of Lindt!!
