Lucerne railway station to Palace Lucerne hotel
A traveler is planning a trip to Lucerne and wants to know if it is easy to walk from the Lucerne Railway Station to the Palace Lucerne Hotel with a suitcase. They also ask if a taxi would be a better option and what the cost might be for that trip.
- Walking from the railway station to the Palace Lucerne Hotel is a level walk of just over 1 km, and it's manageable if your suitcase has wheels.
- Taxis in Switzerland are not cheap; expect to pay around 10-15 CHF for a taxi ride in Lucerne.
- There is a bus service from the main station that runs frequently, taking about 14-15 minutes to reach the hotel, with a stop called 'Luzern, Casino-Palace' nearby.
-
Would it be relatively easy to walk from Lucerne Railway Station to the Palace Lucerne Hotel with perhaps one suitcase – if a taxi is easier does anyone have any idea of cost? I know it is generally about 17 minutes walk – would this be the same if heading in the reverse journey to pick up the boat for the William Tell Express or again would a taxi be easier?
Thanks in advance for your help.
