Milan can certainly be worth visiting for a night, maybe make this dependent on your arrival time and travel time before. Find helpful information about arriving in Switzerland via Italy here: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/italy
For a more general overview of the Italian speaking part of Switzerland, Ticino, use this link for inspiration: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti cino
Looking forward to your input and upcoming ideas. We’re here any time to assist you.
Best,

Where does your 13 day tour start from and end? How will you get from there to Luzern? What activities does it include in and around Luzern? Asking so that any advice we give doesn’t cause you to double up on things you will see on your organised tour.

Tour starts in Lake Como italy, 2 days in Luzern , Austria and back to Italy. I am interested to see more of Switzerland so that is why I am flying in earlier to do so. Arrive in Milan 5/13 at 6 PM and my tour does not begin until 5/20 from lake Como and ends in Milan 5/31. I love lakes, quaint villages, and mountain. I am interested in taking trains not driving. That is why I want to take Bernina or another train. Where should i start from Milan first

Hi Dina 5960,
Travelling from Milano most of the major cities in Switzerland are reachable in a reasonable time, so the choice is yours.
Some of the cities located favourably to explore the mountain regions can be found here for inspiration: http://www.myswissalps.com/ce ntraltownsalps
The Jungfrauregion is worth looking into, so is the area around the Lake of Lucerne and the Ticino, as stated in my first post.
If you prefer selecting your destination according to available activities use this link:

And check here for more detailed information about regions resp. town: http://www.myswissalps.com/wh eretogo
Hope this helps you to find out a little where you’d like to go.
We’re here for further inspiration.
Best,
Steph

How about travelling to Zermatt for a couple of nights. Then take Glacier Express to St Moritz. Then Bernina Express to Lugano? That way you end up close to where your tour starts from (depending on which part of Lake Como that is).
