Hi everyone. We are a family of four with two small kids and are planning to travel to Suisse in December. We want to take the train from Montreux to Rochers de Naye on 24 Dec morning. I had a few queries, and would be great if someone can guide on these:

Passes – I have taken the Swiss Half Fare card for the trip period, and also the Savers Day Pass for 24 Dec

Q1: Does the existing passes work or do I need to book a separate ticket/seat reservation

Q2: The train booking for those dates is still not open right? I found online that the Santa visit opens sometime in Oct for the December period

Any other guidelines and tips anyone can share?

    Many thanks!

    Hi Ashim,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

You can find further information about the train excursion to Rocher de Naye here: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/rochers-de-naye/

Between November and December, you can visit Santa’s House at the summit. There are special tickets for this excursion, which includes the train journey, admission into Santa’s House and a fancy certificate from Santa. Tickets for the excursion cost roughly CHF49 for adult and CHF19 for children. There are discounts if you hold a rail pass such as the Swiss Travel Pass, Swiss Half Fare Card and Saver Day Pass.

In addition, you will need prior seat reservation. According to the official website, ticket sale and seat reservation opens in Sept 2026. You can find further details on the MOB website: http://www.mob.ch/en/products/christmas

    Hope this helps.
