No e-mail from Happyrail for Swiss Half Fare card

Short summary – read this first

Mark is worried because he ordered two Swiss Half Fare Cards online but hasn't received the emails confirming his purchase. He’s currently in Amsterdam and will arrive in Switzerland on December 26, needing the cards before then.

Key takeaways:
  • Check your spam folder for emails from HappyRail if you don’t receive the Swiss Half Fare Card promptly.
  • Always have a printed copy of the Swiss Half Fare Card when in Switzerland, as digital copies on a phone may not be accepted.
  • Consider asking your hotel in Amsterdam to print the card for you before you travel.

    Hi Mark, welcome to MySwissAlps!

Sorry to hear that. It looks like you can’t receive any of their e-mails. The spam filter of your e-mail provider may cause that. I’m not sure, it’s just something that happens occassionally. Do you have an order number you can share here? If not, please fill out your name and address here in your MySwissAlps account, so I can pass that on to them.

When will you depart from home?

    Hi Mark,

I passed this on to them. Someone will get back to you, perhaps by phone as e-mail doesn’t seem to work. Since it’s weekend I’m not sure how long it will take. Meanwhile, enjoy Amsterdam!

    Hi Mark,

The Swiss Half Fare Card has already been sent by HappyRail, so your e-mail provider may indeed (unintentionally) block their e-mails. I have just sent you the card again from our e-mail address. Hopefully that works. Did you receive it? If so, you need to print it and then it’s ready to use. Keeping a copy on your phone is handy as well.

Thanks a lot Arno, I finally got it from you.

Is it possible to use the pass in Swiss by just showing the ecopy in my phone without printing?

I’m happy to hear that! Once you are in Switzerland (not Swiss), you will need a paper printout. Please see http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isshalffarecard/price for an explanation. You can ask your hotel in Amsterdam to print it for you, for example.

    Enjoy your trip!
