Pilatus Golden Round Trip in August with toboggan run: which direction
A family with two teens is planning their first day in Lucerne and wants to celebrate their daughter's 19th birthday by visiting Mount Pilatus. They are deciding whether to do the toboggan run on the way up or on the way back, seeking advice on the best approach for their trip scheduled for late August.
- Consider taking the boat first and then the cogwheel train to Mount Pilatus for a more relaxed experience.
- Make seat reservations for the busy boat section to ensure you have guaranteed seats.
- No reservations are needed for the cableway on the way back, allowing you to enjoy your time at Pilatus and the toboggan run without rushing.

We are a family with 2 teens who obviously are not necessarily early risers, however we’d like to do mount Pilatus on our first day in Lucerne. The toboggan run is a must, so wondering whether to do this on the way up and then boat back or the reverse. Travelling end of august and this first day in Switzerland will be my daughters 19th, so want to get it right!
thanks all
