Is there a regional pass for Eastern Switzerland, around the Appenzell region, as I can’t seem to find one?

Appenzell Tourist Tickets

There does not seem to be a regional pass similar to the Berner Oberland Pass or the Lucerne Travel Pass or the Graubunden Travel Pass.   HOWEVER

Appenzell Guest Cards

Go to http://www.appenzell.ch and look for the section on Appenzell Guest Cards.  These do give you quite a lot of free travel – even on some mountain lines.

Ostwind Verkehrsverbund (The regional public transport authority for north-East Switzerland.)

Go to https://www.ostwind.ch/en/tickets-and-travelcards/

Look at the sections on Day Passes and Multi Day Passes.   If your choosing which zones you want proves difficult, go to a booking office at an important station such as St Gallen, Herisau, Gossau, or Appenzell (village) and ask them for help.

Dear davel4848,

For South-Eastern Switzerland, there is the Graubünden Pass, but this doesn’t include Appenzell: https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/graubundenpass/

You can get a complimentary Appenzell Holiday Card if you stay for 3 or more consecutive nights at any participating hotel or similar accommodation in Appenzell. Please enquire at your hotel provider for further information.
