    Hi dear forumers,

First off, just wanted to take this chance to thank the forum mods for managing this forum. It has been my single source of truth when it comes to planning my Swiss trip.

So I have been some homework and calculation and found that Saverday pass work the best for my itinerary. However, there are a few things that I still need clarification on:

    1. Does this pass require activation on the date of travel? Or does it become valid automatically when the time comes?

    2. With this, do I have to go to the counter to ask for transportation ticket, or it itself is enough to present and get onboard transport?

    3. I will be traveling Grindelwald. They have their own bus network there and I can’t find anywhere that says they are covered by Saverday pass. However, I saw from one of your pages that “In principle, all public bus services are free of charge.” I know Saverday pass is a no-frill pass that focuses on core transportation network. It shys away from mountain-related route so I am interested to know if Grindelwald bus is covered?

    Thanks.

    Thank you keweiUTP,

All about the Saver Day Pass (how to use, where it is valid, purchase options too) in the below link:

    In answer to your questions:

    1. No activation required – you’ll buy it for your chosen date so it’s automatically available for use on that date. Please note, once you’ve chosen and paid for your chosen date, it can only be used for that specific day.

    2. Your Saver Day Pass is your ticket, just present when asked.

    3. There is a map you download and view, in the “where it’s valid” tab in the above link. In principle, all public bus services are free of charge, so Grindelwald mostly yes. The mountain bus routes there, you will need to pay for, though 50% discounted.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda
