We picked Schilthorn last Aug 2022 because Lauterbrunnen is unbelievably beautiful and scenic. Breathtakingly beautiful views on the way to Schilthorn. Also the whole roundtrip to Schilthorn from Lauterbrunnen is short and manageable in half a day.

    Hi stefan,

From your base in Mürren, Schilthorn would be a much more convenient option. You can find information on how to get there here: http://www.myswissalps.com/schilthorn/gettingthere. Information about tickets can be found here: http://www.myswissalps.com/schilthorn/tickets

    Hi Stefan,

I agree that Schilthorn is the easiest option if you’re based in Mürren. The panoramic views up there are lovely.

I like Jungfraujoch too, as you’re literally within the mountains up there and have a superb view of the Aletsch Glacier. Plus, the several ways to get there and back provide for a scenic and varied round trip.

    Hi stefan,

If you’re based in Murren and can only see one, it only makes sense to see the Schilthorn, as it’s literally right in your backyard. To go just from there to the Jungfraujoch would require basically half a day, perhaps half your budget?, several switches (depending on your route), and that’s only if the weather holds out.

Hopefully, your weather will hold out also, as Murren is a beautiful, charming, and very scenic village. Enjoy your trip.

    Regards,

    Danielsan

    Hi stefan,

    (Thank you Danielsan).

Yes, best to check the weather forecast before heading out. Be a shame not to enjoy the views if the weather is unfavourable.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda
