Seat reservations and connection times for visit to Jungfraujoch
A traveler is planning a trip to the Jungfraujoch, known as the Top of Europe, and is seeking advice on seat reservations and connections between the Eiger Express and the train to Jungfraujoch. They want to know if the connections are timed well and how to manage spending some time at the Eigergletscher station without a separate seat reservation for that leg of the journey.
- Make sure to purchase a seat reservation in advance, as it is time-specific.
- The connections from Grindelwald to Eigergletscher and then to Jungfraujoch are synchronized, giving you enough time to switch trains.
- Use the Swiss timetable online to check arrival and departure times for more detailed planning.

Hello
I have seen YouTube videos, people have to wait for a long time to get into the train for the Eigergletscher to Jungfraujoch leg of the journey to Top of the Europe. The solution to this problem is by seat reservation. My question is, is this seat reservation time bound? For example if I buy the seat reservation from http://www.jungfrau.ch, I don’t see any option for Eigergletscher to Jungfraujoch leg (see attached). I will have to select one of the other departure locations. If I choose Grindelwald Terminal then the 1st leg is Eiger Express to Eigergletscher and then Eigergletscher to Jungfraujoch. Are both the legs (Grindelwald to Eigergletscher and then Eigergletscher to Jungfraujoch) in sync so that I won’t miss the Eigergletscher to Jungfraujoch train? Will there be enough time for me to switch from Gondola to the train in Eigergletscher station? How about I want to spend some time in Eigergletscher station, how do I do that if I don’t have a way to reserve a seat for Eigergletscher to Jungfraujoch separately?
