Hello! I am trying to book a seat reservation with class upgrade only from Montreux to Château-d’Œx in a few weeks for 2 travellers. We will have the Swiss Travel Pass 2nd class so we should only have to pay for the reservation and the cost of the upgrade. However, when trying to book the tickets it seems like it is forcing us to choose a train ticket in addition to the seat reservation. I just want to make sure we’re doing this correctly before purchasing. It seems like the only way to pay for reservations only tickets is by selecting “GA 2nd class” discount but I am pretty sure that’s something different. And I just want to be absolutely certain the 36.20 CHF per person, per direction is the cost of the seat upgrade. Thank you!

To book your 1st class seat reservation on the GoldenPass train with 2nd class tickets, I suggest the following steps:

First, book your 1st class seats directly on the GoldenPass website. Select seat reservation only.
GoldenPass seat reservation: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/goldenpass/#price

Once your seats are confirmed, you can purchase your ticket upgrade directly on the SBB Mobile App or website.

On the app or website, select your connection and choose point-to-point upgrade (this is route specific). From Montreux to Chateau d’Oex, this is roughly CHF7.50 per person.

Alternatively, if you wish to travel in 1st class the whole day (not just from Montreux to Chateau d’Oex), you can purchase a day upgrade.
