This is a rather unusual way of responding to the reply posted by Roger Sexton to my post of today with the heading “Securing seats on lower deck of 1st Class coaches Chur-Zurich-Bern”. In spite of my best efforts, the reply sent by me to Roger’s message was not appearing in the post in spite of repeated attempts. I have, therefore, posted what I had intended to write as an attached file. I would be much obliged if this could be responded to.

    Regards

    Subrata

    Hello again

You are travelling to Bern on the 11 32 from Zurich HB on Thursday 2nd April
You are travelling from Bern to Zurich Airport on the 14 31 departure on Thursday 9th April

Both of these trains are outside the ‘rush hour’ for commuters.  I would not expect either train to be busy in first class.  I personally would not bother with seat reservations.

    Kind regards
    Roger

    Hi Subrata,

I  agree with Roger that seat reservations are not necessary if you are travelling outside of the peak hours. However if you decide you would like to book your seats, you can do it online via the SBB timetable (either on the mobile app or website) before you travel.

    Hello Roger and Anna,
Thanks for your valuable advice. I have decided to drop the idea of reserving seats on the IC1& IC3 trains

    Regards
    Subrata
