No I don’t think there is. I always like to promote the BeoAbo, which works in the Bernese Oberland on a ‘zone’ system. This does provide senior discounts at a good rate, but is only really suitable if you are in the region for a week or two or more, and doesn’t cover rail to and from Geneva for example, only local bus and cable-car routes. BeoAbo’s are valid for a month or a year. Ideal if you are arriving by car though.

BSODJLMParticipant10 posts13 August 2014 at 19:01:23 #840845We will be centered in Wengen for one week.
I could not understand how the BeoAbo system works as compared to a Flexi-Pass, for instance.
Can you help?
physocParticipant9 posts13 August 2014 at 19:37:19 #840846Hi, we buy a BeoAbo regularly. You need a passport sized ‘photo and it can be bought from a train station booking office. http://www.beoabo.ch/de/index.php has the details of prices and zones. If you are going to be in Wengen you need at least the two zones including Lauterbrunnen and Wengen, but if you include the third zone for Murren you get unlimited travel on local buses and cable-cars to Isenfluh; Grutscalp; Gimmelwald; Murren and Stechelberg.
Unless you have a Swiss Pass that gives half-fare on local transport each bus or cable-car out of Lauterbrunnen will cost 10.80 Chf and Lauterbrunnen to Wengen is 13 Chf return. Over a week you should find the BeoAbo an economic way of travelling locally.
You just show your pass and use the transport, no queueing for tickets, which is very useful at busy times.
Regards, Tony
