Skiing Swiss Alps in December?
A traveler named alisonpalm is planning a trip to Zermatt in mid-December and is curious about the ski season start. They want to know if skiing is possible at that time and are looking for recommendations on where to ski.
- Skiing is generally possible in mid-December, but it can vary each year depending on weather conditions.
- High-altitude resorts like Zermatt and Saas-Fee are more likely to have snow in December.
- Consider destinations in the Engadine valley, such as St. Moritz or Pontresina, for great skiing options.

Hi there,
I am trying to plan a trip (possibly to Zermatt) in December. Around the middle of the month. When exactly does the ski season start in Switzerland? I know pretty much nothing about the ski season there. Could someone help me out? Will it be possible to ski there in december? Anybody have any recommendations of where to go?
