    Hi Viju,

Normally there wouldn’t be any snow in September. It can’t be entirely ruled out though in higher terrain like the Oberalp Pass, if it happens to be a colder day.

There was snow at the level of the Oberalp Pass when I left Switzerland in August as it had rained overnight and the snow level was down to 2000m (Oberalp Pass is 2044m).

However it was as high as 28 degrees C on the Glacier Express route today! Nevertheless the snow level is due to come down to 1500m by next Tuesday

The Swiss Met office forecast website has a section showing the predicted snow level and altitude at which the temperature will be 0C

    see here: http://www.meteoswiss.admin.c h/home.html?tab=temperature

look for the section ‘temperatures’ on the left hand side
