Suggestions for hotels in St. Moritz Bad.

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is planning a week-long trip to St. Moritz in the Engadine for hiking. They prefer staying in 3-star or 4-star hotels, near good restaurants and Post Bus stops, and are looking for hotel recommendations, ideally with a balcony.

Key takeaways:
  • Consider the Waldhaus Hotel in Sils en Engadine; it's a historic hotel with a hiking concierge and great access to local trails.
  • Look for accommodations that are close to Post Bus stops to easily access hiking areas.
  • Booking a hotel with a balcony can enhance your experience by providing scenic views.

I’m a much-experienced hiker in most areas of Switzerland, but have never visited the Engadine.  I prefer hotels to apartments. I can afford 3-star or 4-star hotels & like to stay near good restaurants & especially Post Bus stops (for hiking access). I plan to stay a week in St. Moritz. Does anyone have suggestions of hotels? I hope for a room with balcony.

We too are avid hikers. We stayed at the Waldhaus  Hotel in Sils en Engadine (Sils Maria). It is a 20 minute bus ride from St Moritz and right next to a bus stop. It is a beautiful historic hotel in a very scenic location and is very convenient to great hiking in Val Fex as well as Furtschellas and Murtel. The hotel has a dedicated hiking concierge desk that was very helpful and informative about local hikes and logistics. Sils Maria itself is very scenic too. I have included 2 photos showing the Waldhaus Hotel and the view of Sils Maria from the Waldhaus.
