How to get children tickets with Swiss Family Card
Amit, a traveler, is planning a trip with his family of four, including two children under 13. He has the Swiss Half Fare Card and the Swiss Family Card but is unsure how to book free tickets for his kids through the SBB website. He needs help understanding how to apply the family pass for their train travel in Switzerland.
- You don’t need to book tickets for children under 16 if you have the Swiss Family Card, as they can travel for free.
- When purchasing tickets, only buy the discounted tickets for adults using the Swiss Half Fare Card.
- You can reserve seats for children on trains but do not need to buy separate tickets for them.
- Confirming reservations on the Golden Pass train is fine as long as you have the correct tickets for adults.

Hi we are family of 2 adults and 2 child below 13 years. me & my wife already purchased swiss half fare card with swiss family card.
According to rules, children below 16 travel for free.
But the main problem is.
When I am booking tickets from sbb mobile app or website.
There is no option of family card.
In adults section , we put Half fare card.
But when I am entering details of my children. There is no discount or swiss family pass showing.
What should I do?
Plz help
