Swiss rail pass discounts for UK travellers?

Short summary – read this first

Amit Sawji is visiting Switzerland from the UK from April 27 to May 1 with four others: three adults, one senior, and one child. They want to buy the Swiss Travel Pass for 3 or 4 days and are looking for potential discounts. Since the child under 5 travels for free, they should take this into account when planning their trip.

Key takeaways:
  • Children up to 5 years travel free in Switzerland, so Amit's child will not need a ticket.
  • To choose between a 3 or 4-day Swiss Travel Pass, it's helpful to create a detailed itinerary to calculate costs.
  • Check the promotions link frequently for any deals on the Swiss Travel Pass before purchasing.

Hi Amit Sawji and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

First of all, the child of 3 years will need NO ticket at all. Children up to 5 years travel for free in Switzerland.

Are you talking about the Swiss Travel Pass you’re considering to get?

    Thank you Steph!

I am still working out my detailed itinerary. I will use the spreadsheet to compare the passes. I am looking to buy the Swiss Travel Pass. I have read forum posts and see that there aren’t many discounts on this pass.
