Change printed Swiss Travel Pass for card version?

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named HMMM is planning a trip with their family and has purchased 8-day Swiss Travel Passes. They want to know if it's possible to get a more portable card version at a train station instead of carrying full-size printed pages.

Key takeaways:
  • You won't be able to get a card version of the Swiss Travel Pass; it's only available as a printed pass at home.
  • You can fold your printed ticket as long as you don't damage the barcode.
  • Keep a backup of your pass on your mobile phone, but have the paper version handy just in case it's requested.

Quick question: My family and I bought 8 day Swiss travel Passes – I printed them out, but they each take up a full 8×11 page of paper. Can I show them at a train station to perhaps get them in a card form that would be easier to carry around? Or are they only available as a printout at home? Thank you!

    Hi HMMM!

No, you won’t be able to get a (credit) card version. You can fold your printed ticket as long as you don’t damage the code that will be scanned, and have a back-up on your mobile phone. In most cases the mobile version works fine (but you’ll have to carry along the paper version as well, in case that’s asked for). Please find details at myswissalps.com/swisst ravelpass/price.
