    Hello,

I am currently staying in Innsbruck and planning to do a 3-day trip to Switzerland using swiss travel pass.

Does swiss travel pass covers swiss part of journey for austrian trains like railjet?

If I am travelling by austrian train from Innsbruck to zurich, buying ticket only till Feldkirch should be sufficient?

    please help,

    Thanks.

    Hello mayuresh2606, welcome to MySwissAlps!

The Swiss legs of such trips will be covered by a Swiss Travel Pass. As for the route Innsbruck-Zurich: the Swiss Travel Pass is valid between Buchs SG and Zurich, so you need an additional ticket Innsbruck-Buchs. Details can be found at myswissalps.com/traint ickets/austria and myswissalps.com/swisst ravelpass/validity.

No, the railway administration border (and ticketing border point) is Buchs SG. You will need an Austrian ticket Innsbruck – Buchs SG.

However note that international trains often have ‘global fares’ nowadays so it is always a possibility that an Innsbruck – Zurich ticket will be no more expensive than an Innsbruck – Buchs SG ticket.

    Just an additional query,

as I can see from the validity map, bus connection from Feldkirch to Buch SG/Sargans is covered under swiss travel pass. So I would not have to buy a separate ticket if I use Bus 11 which connect these places, correct?

As my tickets are already booked till Feldkirch, I am trying avoid cancellations & to figure out whether I can utilize swiss travel pass for commute between Buch SG and Feldkirch.

    Thanks.

    Hello Mayuresh2606,

Correct, the bus from Feldkirch to Buchs SG is covered by the Swiss Travel Pass.

An alternative is just buying an additional train ticket from Feldkirch to Buchs SG, avoiding cancellation of the purchased tickets. Both options will work.

    Best,
    Steph
