Swiss yodelling competitions in June?

Short summary – read this first

A traveler shared their excitement about local cultural events after attending a yodel fest in Brienz. They are planning a trip to Switzerland from June 14 to June 30 and want to know about any local festivals happening during that time. They had to cancel a previous trip to a yodel fest in 2021, so they are hoping to make the most of this visit.

Key takeaways:
  • Check out the mountain spring festival at Männlichen on June 26, which will feature traditional Swiss music and yodelling.
  • While there are several yodelling fests in Switzerland, most of them occur in July during the school holidays, so plan your trip accordingly.
  • Consider looking into the Swiss Travel Pass for convenient access to various events and public transport during your stay.

We enjoyed the local yodel fest in brieze the last time we were in Switzerland. We enjoy local cultural events. We will be in Switzerland from June 14 through June 30. We could plan out stays around local festivals. We had to cancel our trip to the yodel fest in 2021. Our ancestors originated in Switzerland. Thanks in advance

    Hi dc3748,

Yes, last year’s National Yodelling Fest in Basel had to be postponed. The new date is now set for next July 2023 in Zug. There are various regional yodelling fests if you’re interested but most seem to take place in July during the school holidays. However there is a mountain spring festival taking place at Männlichen on 26 June which you might be interested. The festival highlights Swiss traditional music and folklore, so there will be lots of yodelling for sure 🙂

Useful information about Männlichen here: http://www.myswissalps.com/mannlichen
