Tickets for one day in Zurich and Lindt factory

Short summary – read this first

A traveler is planning a 9-day trip to Switzerland with family, including two kids. They want to explore Zurich on the first day and ask if there's a suitable travel pass for that day since they’ll start using the Swiss Travel Pass from the second day. They seek advice on whether to get a 24-hour pass or individual tickets for Zurich activities.

Key takeaways:
  • Consider purchasing a 24-hour Zurich Card for the first day to travel freely on trams, buses, and boats in Zurich.
  • The ZürichCard also covers transport to the Lindt Chocolate Shop and Uetliberg, perfect for your itinerary.
  • Note that kids may need their own tickets depending on their age, so check the local rules before travel.

    Hi Tijoscaria,

I’m sorry but the Swiss Travel Pass 8+2 days offer is no longer available. You can check current Swiss Travel Pass prices here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/price

Based on your plans on the 1st day, you might want to consider purchasing a 24-hour Zurich Card. This is similar to a travelpass and allow you to travel for free on trams, bus, boats and cableway in the city of Zurich. It also includes free boat trip on Lake Zurich and along River Limmat, and free or reduced admission to various museums. You can find the link to purchase the card here: http://www.myswissalps.com/zurich/travel (please scroll to the bottom or the column on the right)

    Hope this helps.

    regards,

    Anna

    Hi Tijosacria,

Yes, the ZürichCard includes free travelling on public transport to Uetliberg and the Lindt Chocolate Shop in Kilchberg.

    Regards,

    Anna
