If you’re in the Lake Lucerne area on the 1st of August (Switzerland’s festive National Day), you may want to visit the Rigi area. As part of the Rigi Historic XXL Days, many special historic trains will operate on the cogwheel tracks from Vitznau and Arth-Goldau.
An airplane parade is held too. It was originally scheduled for Pentecost Sunday 2025, but had to be postponed and will now be organized on August 1.
