Train from Milan to Brig with Swiss Travel Pass

Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Dima is planning a trip from Milan to Brig with a Swiss Travel Pass for their family. Hi,

We are planning to travel from Milan to Brig and we have Swiss Travel Pass for our family. If I correctly understand we have to purchase tickets only for Milan-Domodossola leg. My question is if we will reserve the seats for for Milan-Domodossola leg can we use the same seats for Domodossola-Brig leg? Should we make seats reservation for Domodossola-Brig leg?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Dima,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

If you are travelling from Milan to Brig with a valid Swiss Travel Pass, you only need a ticket to cover the Italian portion of the journey, which is Milan to Domodossola as you have pointed out. You can purchase point-to-point tickets for this section here: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/italy

If you are travelling on a non-stop train to Brig, there is no need to switch seats in Domodossola unless the seat is reserved by a different passenger. Seat reservation on Swiss trains is usually not necessary as explained here: http://www.myswissalps.com/train/reservations

    Hope this clarifies.

    Regards,

    Anna
