A traveler named Suemartha wants to know if the train station at Geneva Airport is easy to find and its location concerning customs. Several replies confirm that the train station is located directly below the terminal and is well-signposted, making it easy for newcomers to navigate.
Key takeaways:
Look for signs with train pictograms to find the train station easily.
The train station is directly under the main terminal, accessible from Check-In and Arrivals.
Trains from Geneva Airport to Montreux run twice an hour, so don't worry if you miss one.
Navigating Geneva Airport is straightforward as it is smaller than Zurich Airport.

As is also the case at Zurich Airport, the Geneva Airport train station is directly underneath the main terminal building. It will be very well sign-posted. Look for pictograms with an (electric) train on them. The IR90 trains from Geneva Airport to Montreux run twice an hour, so do not panic if you just miss a train!

Hi Suemartha,
In all our visits to Switzerland I think that we have only once flown in via Geneva Airport. It’s just happened that way that (usually) Zurich and occasionally Basel have been more convenient.
What I distinctly remember is that, with no previous knowledge of the airport, we took just 25 minutes from the aircraft wheels touching the runway to sitting on our train. That’s everything: taxi-ing; disembarking; luggage; passports; customs.
Now that’s most unusual and you should not expect to get near that time, but it shows that the direction signs mentioned are helpful. Recent experience at Zurich has also shown that, post Brexit, UK subjects have to take the ‘All Passports’ route which is invariably longer that the EU route.
The signage to the train station in Geneva is very good. The Geneva airport is relatively small compared to Zurich and airports in other larger cities, so you shouldn’t have any problem navigating the airport.
The thread ‘Where is the train station at Geneva Airport?’ is closed to new replies.
