Hi Thy,
One option would be to take the local bus. You hotel should be able to provide you with this information. Alternatively you can take a taxi. You can hail taxis from designated spots at the train station. Lucerne is also one of the few places in Switzerland where Uber is available.
Be sure to read this for information on how to get around in Lucerne: http://www.myswissalps.com/lucerne/travel

Like all cities in Switzerland, Luzern has a comprehensive public transport system. In the case of Luzern it is a network of trolley buses and normal buses. As with most places in Western Europe, find out the address of your hotel and you can then use the various online mapping and travel directions web services to get the route.

Dear 1960man,
The Swiss Travel Pass also covers the trolley buses, right? (Are these the trams?)
Thank you.

Hi BibiL.
yes, Swiss Travel Pass covers every public city transport like busses, trams, boats, trolley busses etc. Learn more about the validity of the Swiss Travel Pass here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/validity.
Trolley buses are buses with electric connections (like trams). They do not travel on rails as trams do and they van travel a bit also without the electric connections. They look more like buses. I hope this helps a bit to imagine them.

Trolley bus and tram (US = streetcar) are two different things
A clue to what a trolleybus is is one of its original names (trackless trolley or just ‘trackless)
A trolley bus is a rubber tyred bus that is powered by electricity taken from twin overhead wires. Switzerland is one of the last countries in Europe to use trolleybuses extensively (and even in Switzerland several systems have been abolished in recent years). This is because the electric vehicle technology has developed to the point that, like private cars, buses can be powered by electric batteries on board
This is what a Luzern trolleybus looks like:

Dear Ildiko and 1960man,
Thank you for your replies, and especially for that photo of a trolleybus.
I’m glad that we will be able to easily ride the bus from the train station to our hotel.

In the picture I posted the trolleybus is passing the station (route 7) so that may even be the route you will need!
