I’m planning to come for a short holiday to Zurich in a week.  I want to know which is the cheaper option.

1) If I by a Zurich  “Day Card” for about roughly £25  does it allow travel by train, tram, bus, boat, cable car.  Can my wife get a companion ticket with it fir half price or she also should buy Day Card.

2) Similarly with the 9am card

are travel on all modes allowed and is their possibility for comoanion ticket or better to but two 9am cards.

3) With Zurich card can we use to travel from airport to Zurich city centre and back to airport.

4) Finally for Luceren Day which catd is best for all travel and attractions.

And if I have Luceren Day card can we travel free by train from Zurich.

I am looking for cheapest option and also value for money.

The SBB companion ticket cannot be used in combination with the Zurich Card. You can purchase the companion only if you have one of SBB’s Swiss Travel System tickets/railpass such as the Swiss Travel Pass (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/swiss-travel-pass/) and Swiss Half Fare Card (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/swiss-half-fare-card/). The companion ticket is available from 12 April to 16 May 2024. Further info on the SBB website: http://www.sbb.ch/en/campaign/companion-ticket.html.

For short stay in Zurich city, I suggest getting the ZVV 24h-ticket covering 2 to 3 zones. Each person will need a ticket. This is usually sufficient if you plan to explore the city and travel to and from the airport using the public transport network.
