Traveling from Paris to Zermatt & Zermatt to Como
A traveler is planning a trip from Paris to Zermatt and then from Zermatt to Lake Como, looking for the fastest and most scenic train options to take. They have 5 days to spend in each location and seek advice from experienced travelers to optimize their travel routes.
- Take the TGV Lyria from Paris to Geneva for a direct route; travel time is about 3 hours, then continue to Zermatt in about 4 hours.
- For scenic views, consider the Zermatt to Lake Como route via the Centovalli Railway, which offers beautiful scenery between Domodossola and Locarno.
- Use the SBB timetable to check train schedules and find the fastest connections for your travels.

Hi,
I have been trying to come up with a complete travel plan from Paris – Zermatt & Zermatt – Lake Como. My girlfriend and I are looking for the fastest way to get to Zermatt from Paris but also a scenic option as well? Do you recommend specific trains and or routes to take for this to be possible? Also, can you recommend the same for Zermatt – Lake Como. The fastest way to get there, also the most scenic options as well. I am trying to see how long each route would take me considering I only have 5 days in each place I stop.
I kindly ask for a more experienced traveler to toss some advice out there if you have sometime.
Thanks so much and I look forward to reading your responses! 🙂
