Traveling to Switzerland in December worth it?
A traveler named Aartidesaai is planning a trip to Switzerland with two adults and a 13-year-old in the first week of December. They are unsure if traveling during this time is worthwhile due to concerns about cold weather, limited daylight, and closure of mountain routes. They seek honest opinions from those who have visited in December.
- Expect shorter daylight hours in December, with darkness by 5 pm.
- While greenery is minimal, snowcapped mountains and Christmas markets offer a unique charm.
- Most cable cars remain open; check ahead for operating dates to avoid disappointment.
- Consider winter activities like snowshoeing and sledging if you encounter snow.

Hi, we are planning to travel Switzerland in first week of December we are three people two adults and 13 year old. My friends suggested me December is not the best time to visit Switzerland and it will be waste of time and money. reason being I can’t see greenery around, daytime is less so I will have only few hours for sightseeing also it will be extremely cold and many of the routes will be closed ( mountain area) due to heavy snowfall can you please let me know if all mentioned about is correct and should I avoid traveling in December.
if anyone has traveled in December kindly let me know your experience I really need honest opinion on the same thank you.
