Traveling from Lauterbrunnen up to Jungfraujoch
A traveler and their wife are planning a short trip based in Lauterbrunnen and want to know if they can book a train to Jungfraujoch directly from Lauterbrunnen via SBB or if they need to take a different route. They are confused about whether to travel from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen or Grindelwald depending on the tickets they choose.
- You can buy tickets at Lauterbrunnen station or online, and your journey will always pass through Wengen to reach Jungfraujoch.
- If you have a Swiss Travel Pass, your ticket from Lauterbrunnen will cover travel to Wengen, and you only need to pay for the rest of the journey to Jungfraujoch.
- For variety, consider returning from Jungfraujoch via Grindelwald instead of the same route.

Hi,
Me and my wife will be based in Lauterbrunnen for a couple of days.
Is it possible to book a train via SBB from Lauterbrunnen to Kleine Scheidegg then from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujouch?
Or must I book from this link?
shop.switzerlandtravel centre.com/#/en/produc t/excu rsionJungfrau
If book from this link… the options are:
Wengen – Wengen
Wengen – Grindelwald
Grindelwald – Grindelwald
Grindelwald – Wengen
Does this mean we have to travel from Lauterbrunnen to Wengen or Grindelwald depending on the option we choose?
or will it be easier for us to travel straight from Lauterbrunnen to Kleine Scheidegg then from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujouch?
