    Hello,

I plan on attending a friends wedding in March 2021, which will be held in Champex-Lac and I will be flying into Geneva airport. Could anyone suggest the best way to travel by train to Martigny-Gare, and maybe the most scenic way.

    thanks

There is only one practical way Genève – Martigny, that is by direct train. The mainline (part of the Simplon route Genève – Sion – Brig – Milano) has two fast trains per hour every hour through the day. It is plenty scenic enough – whilst at the same time being simple direct train.

On departure from Genève, look to the left for views of the Jura mountain chain. After Lausanne, sit on the right, as the train will skirt the lake shore (with views across the lake to the French Alps) as far as Aigle. I’ve done the journey 100s of times of 60 years.
