Travelling to Switzerland by motorhome
A traveler is planning a trip to Switzerland in late October or early November with their motorhome. They want to avoid driving in the mountains and are looking for a caravan site that provides good access to public transportation for day trips around Switzerland. They're seeking advice on easy routes from France to Switzerland.
- Consider camping Santa Monica in Raron for its proximity to good roads and the rail station.
- Another great option is Les Horizons Blues in Villeneuve, also near a rail station.
- Enter Switzerland through Basel for easy access to the Jungfrau region, where roads are good and mountain passes are avoided.
- Be aware of Swiss traffic regulations in winter, as snow conditions may affect travel, especially at lower altitudes.

Hi all, hope someone can advise. We are travelling to Switzerland via Motorhome late Oct early November. I do not want to drive on any the mountains. Our plan is to drive to a Caravan site in Switzerland – easy to get to from France avoiding mountains and any other difficult roads and using the caravan site as a base. So the site would need good public transport close. So to summarise can anyone tell me the easiest journey into Switzerland via France and the best place to hold up, we would love to do several day trips around Switzerland via Bus or train etc.
Thank you for any comments
