Unable to sign up for the Swisscom Prepaid Flat 7 in the US
A traveler from the US is looking to set up an esim for their upcoming trip to Switzerland but is having trouble with their phone number not fitting the required nine-digit format. They are unsure whether to resolve this issue before arriving or wait until they get to Switzerland for assistance.
- You can sign up for an esim before you arrive, and it will activate once you're in Switzerland.
- Ensure your phone is eSim compatible before attempting to register.
- If you encounter issues, consider visiting a physical store in Switzerland for assistance.
- For other mobile internet options, check local providers for plans suited to tourists.

I’m from the US and I’m trying to set up an esim before we visit Switzerland. I got past several registration screens then it asks for my phone number. It asks for my mobile number but it doesn’t seem to accept a US number. It seems to only allow nine digits, while our phone number system uses ten digits.
Any ideas how to get past this? Should I just set up when I arrive in Switzerland? I would like to save some time and have everything set up now.
