We purchased our Swiss Rail Pass online and received it through an email and have added it to our iphone wallet. There was a time that these passes needed to be validated before they could be used. Is this still the case? The pass has our start date printed on it. Thank you.

    Hi Joanna6,

In case you mean the Swiss Travel Pass, you do not have to validate it. The Swiss Travel Pass is ready for traveling once you’ve received it. You received a PDF file, that has a code that train staff can scan from your smartphone. Learn more about how to use your Swiss Travel Pass: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/howtouse.

Please, let us know if you have further questions,

… and be sure to bring a paper printout of the pass. Cell phones batteries can run out, so a digital pass would be problematic.
