A traveler is planning a 10-day trip to Switzerland in the first half of May and wants to visit the Rhine Falls. They have questions about the worthiness of the falls, luggage storage at Zurich Airport, transportation costs, and the best viewing spots for the falls.
Key takeaways:
You can leave your luggage at Zurich Airport in lockers for about 6-10 Swiss Francs or at a left luggage office for a little more.
Consider taking a train from Zurich Airport to the Rhine Falls for convenience; check the Swiss railways timetable for the best route.
The station 'Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall' is the closest to the falls and is recommended for a good viewing experience.
If traveling on a budget, look into ZVV zone tickets for a cheaper option to reach the falls.

I am planning Switzerland tour in May first half for 10 days.I want to visit Rhine falls. I am a little confused and have the following questions:
1) Is it worth visiting the Rhine Falls?
2) Is it possible to visit Rhine Falls immediately after reaching Zurich Airport on first day of visit? If yes, what about the luggage we will be carrying? Can we leave the luggage at the airport?
3) What is cheaper for this visit, Car or Railway or which Railway?
4) Is it necessary to go back to Zurich Oerlikon to visit Rhine Falls by SBB?
5) Which place is best to watch Rhine Falls-Neuhausen Rhine or Schaffhausen?

Hi Amitrp and welcome to MySwissAlps!
This is a personal decision – some like it and others are not impressed. Read more about it here to help you decide: http://www.myswissalps.com/rh inefalls
Yes, you can take a train from Zurich airport to the Rheinfalls (and leave luggage at airport). Use the Swiss railways timetable to plan the trip: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable
This question depends on how many people are traveling and how you could split the cost of a rental car (or if you are getting a rail pass for your entire trip (which includes the trip to the Rheinfalls). http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses
The timetable will give you the most direct route from the airport
Both are good. I would arrive at one point and leave at the other. Read more on the link from point #1

Thanks Lucas & Rockoyster for the advise.
Regarding Lucas point 2. -Where can we leave the luggage at the Airport? Is there any charge for the same?
Regarding Rockoyster: Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall &. Schaffhausen it was really confusing as some website suggested Schaffhausen to visit Rhine Fall while the map shows Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall. 😀

Luggage lockers are around 6-10 Swiss Francs. There is also a left luggage office if your bags are too big for a little bit more money.
One of the 2 stops at the Rheinfall is “Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall”.
People often travel to/from the town of Schaffhausen when visiting the Rheinfalls (or combine the town and the waterfalls into one trip).
If you want to do it a different and cheaper way consider a ZVV zone ticket that will take you to Schloss Laufen a. Rh.
Make sure that is is Schloss Laufen a. Rh. – because that station is at the very end of the fare zone.
The station at Schloss Laufen a. Rh. is rather quirky and was slated for closure some time ago.But was later reprieved.
To use the ZVV ticket properly you’d need to make sure you travel from Zurich Airport via Winterthur.
As others have stated, information is available in the SBB timetable
The old saying PPPPP certainly applies to even the smallest outings in Switzerland (or any other travel destination for that matter); prior planning prevents poor performance.
Enjoy your travels.

Thanks for guidance Lucas and Gunzel. Airport Locker option seems better.
Thanks again.
