    Hello everybody,

I’m planning a trip to Switzerland in mid July, and I will stay in Wilderswil for 8 days to explore the area.

I sea that there’s a nice walk between Wilderswil and Zweilütschinen, and the route described is from Wilderswil to Zweilütschinen and not the opposite way.

Is the opposite way, from Zweilütschinen to Wilderswil doable as well?

    I’d appreciate your opinion.

    Hello Shaber1923,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

That’s great to hear you are visiting in July. For the walk between Wilderswil and Zweilütschinen, yes this is doable in reverse. You would just make your way to start at Zweilütschinen. The train journey is very short, you can plan via the SBB timetable: https://www.myswissalps.com/timetable

The area around the path between Wilderswil and Zweilutschinen has been undergoing a great deal of construction in the past 18 months. It could very well still be going on.

If you are arriving at Wilderswil via train from Interlaken you will be able to see if the construction is still happening. The walking path parallels the train tracks

Thank you for your answers, Yolanda and kim11.

I’ll check on the situation of the path when I’ll arrive to Wilderswil and decide what to do accordingly.

    Kind regards,

    Shaul

If a walking path goes from A to B. the same path goes from B to A!

Of course, 1960man, but sometimes when you walk from A to B the view can be nicer or the walking can be easier due to elevation etc.

Definitely Shaber1923, your question makes perfect sense.

When walking from Wilderswil to Zweilütschinen you’ll gradually ascend, and when doing it the other way you’ll gradually descend. But it’s an easy path with a limited height difference (just about 100 vertical metres), so neither option should pose any problems.

I’d say the views are a bit nicer when walking from Wilderswil to Zweilütschinen, as you’ll be facing the high mountain peaks toward the south. But that too isn’t that much of a difference on this particular trail. You can turn around for the views every once in a while and that’s it :-).

    Thank you Annika,

That’s exactly why I asked the question.

I’m thinking about returning from any tour in the mountains, getting off the train at Zweilutschinen and walking to my hotel in Wilderswil.
