Short summary – read this first

A traveler named Shel is looking forward to their Jungfraujoch visit in two days but is concerned about possible rain. They want suggestions for hiking in case the weather is not ideal, noting they have good rain gear.

Key takeaways:
  • Check the local weather forecast prior to your excursion for the best experience.
  • If it rains, consider visiting Trummelbach Falls or Glacier Canyon for great sights without hiking too much.
  • Don't forget to consider a lake cruise as a fun alternative activity.

We are hoping the clouds will lift…the forecast is supposed to be improving and we have Jungfraujoch tickets for the day after tomorrow…but any suggestions for hiking in the area when the weather is less than ideal? We do have pretty good rain gear…

    Hi Shel,

The weather looks like it’s going to be dry on the 24th so hopefully your can go ahead with your excursion and hike. You can check the weather forecast here: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/jungfraujoch/#weather

If it’s rainy, I recommend a visit to the Trummelbach Falls or Glacier Canyon and just hiking on ground level. Also, if you’re up for something different, maybe a lake cruise?

    Regards,
    Anna
