What to wear in August to Jungfraujoch
Susan is planning a trip to Jungfraujoch in August and wants advice on appropriate clothing. She's concerned about not having room for winter gear and asks if warm clothes can be rented at the facility. Susan appreciates the helpful responses from the forum members.
- Wear layers and a windbreaker or warm coat, as temperatures can be around 5 degrees Celsius.
- A down jacket is likely not needed; a t-shirt, long sleeve shirt, and a rain jacket should suffice.
- Don't forget sunscreen since UV exposure increases with altitude and reflection from snow.
- For short trails, sneakers can be fine, but wear hiking shoes for longer hikes.

Can you please tell me- what is the appropriate clothing to wear to Junfrauloch in August? Do I need a down jacket? Does the facility rent warm clothes? Coming from the US and really dont have a lot of packing room for winter gear. This forum is amazing! All of the replies are SO helpful so thank you!
Best,
Susan
