Wild camping in Lauterbrunnen and other areas
A couple is visiting Switzerland on a budget this summer and wants to know about wild camping locations, especially around Lauterbrunnen and Bluemlisalphorn. They plan to travel without a car and are looking for hiking and biking suggestions.
- Wild camping is typically allowed above the tree line and outside conservation areas during summer.
- Consider staying at campgrounds like Camping Jungfrau in Lauterbrunnen for more amenities.
- Using a longboard can be a fun way to get around in the Jungfrau region without a car.

Hello, me and my boyfriend are coming to Switzerland on a budget. We find Switzerland a really beautiful places, but also really expensive. We were wondering in which areas it is legal to wild camp? I read in an other thread that we can camp for one night only, without leaving anything behind us and being quiet in certain areas, and I really wanted to know which these areas were?
I was interested mainly camping in lauterbrunnen, Bluemlisalphorn and other beautiful places (if you could give us any advice please).
Also, if someone could advice beautiful places we can visit? We love to hike, and also go by bike.
Please keep in mind we do not own a car, we will travel exclusively by train, walk and long boarding in the streets (we can rent bikes if we want).
thank you for your attention.
