Hello nallinie. There aren't many night trains within Switzerland actually. Most night trains are those to and from neighboring countries, so if you're planning a 2 day stay in Switzerland, you can best plan an overnight stay in a hotel. You won't be able to cover all your wishes in two days. A nice round trip would be Zurich - to Lucerne - Engelberg and Titlis on day 1; part of the Golden Pass line from Lucerne to Interlaken - maybe a visit to Schilthorn or Jungfraujoch - back to Germany via Bern/Basel on day 2. The Swiss timetable will assist you in the exact planning of your trips.

As for a rail pass: a Swiss (Flexi) Pass would be too expensive, as it comes in 3 or 4 days variants at least. For such a 2 day tour, you may want to consider the Swiss Card or Swiss Half Fare Card. Based on your plans, you can calculate which option is best.

I hope this gets you started!

Hello nallinie! There aren't really night trains within Switzerland. If you would want to use and inbound or outbound night train, the Swiss Half Fare Card would be valid for the Swiss leg of the trip.

Yes, the Swiss Half Fare Card is valid for the Golden Pass line, meaning that you can buy a 50% reduced ticket for this trip. (A map showing the validity of the Swiss Half Fare Card can be found at the Swiss Half Fare Card page.) Apart from that, there'll be a charge for your seat reservations. This is the same for all travelers, whether they hold a rail pass or not. More information is available at our seat reservation page.
