Hello Meixian and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

If you download the Swiss Travel Pass Area of Validity Map from this page. It will show you what is covered.

For your particular itinerary Pilatus is discounted 50%, Wengen to Jungfraujoch is discounted 25% and Zermatt to Klein Matterhorn is discounted 50%.

You might want to look at a Saver Day Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/on edaytravelpass/details) to pad out a 4-day STP for your Day 5.

If you are still weighing up if a Swiss Travel Pass is your best option you should read “How to choose the best travel pass” (http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass), download the handy spreadsheet calculator and do the math.

Busy, but doable I would say. Not for me, but you are probably young and energetic

    Hi Meixian,

To find the train schedules use the Swiss railways timetable. It always gives you the direct, quickest routes. If you want/need to go via a certain town use the “via” boxes.

I’m not sure it makes sense to switch hotels when the two locations, Wengen and Mürren, are relatively close together. I’d stick with Wengen as a base. Mürren is at the base of Schilthorn so with your latest plan you will pass through it twice already before returning to sleep there.

Also keep an eye on the weather and have a Plan B in case the weather is not favourable for going up either of the mountains.

Alright. I will stick to Wengen. May I check if Wengen is the best place as a base if I wish to go up to Schilthorn and Jungfraujoch?

Thank you! Will keep an eye on the weather.

Wengen is very lovely with great views. Lauterbrunnen is slightly more central but is in the bottom of the valley so lacks the views. Based on that you will need to pick which is best for your circumstances.

    I would pick Wengen.

It is really a coin toss. Mürren is a little better for Schilthorn and Wengen is a little better for Jungfraujoch.

Schilthorn is free with the Swiss Travel Pass. Check the validity map you can download from http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity. Be sure to look at the legend for the map on the right hand side.

That will also tell you that the trip from Wengen to Jungfraujoch is discounted by 25%. Up to Wengen your travel is free.

Hi, i saw that the round trip from Klein Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch is CHF213.60

    However, i checked from this website – http://www.sbb.ch/en/buying/p ages/fahrplan/fahrplan .xhtml#

and the single trip from Klein Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch is CHF 32.

May I know which is accurate?

The price list I linked to before is the full fare price. The full fare Wengen – Jungfraujoch – Wengen is CHF200 in June.

    >> However, i checked from this website … and the single trip from Klein Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch is CHF 32.

You need to read more carefully 😉

It doesn’t say simply “CHF 32”, it says “Tickets from CHF 32.00″.

When you click on that, you get more detailed information: i.e. that CHF 32.00 is a one way fare for passengers who have a Half-Fare travelcard.

If you don’t have a Half-Fare travelcard, the fare is double that – and double again for a return journey of course.

If you have a Swiss Travel Pass, you will need a ticket from (and back to) Grindelwald and/or Wengen, not just from Kleine Scheidegg.
