Traveling with family (3 adults, 2 children) to Interlaken. Is there a cost effective option to go to Jungfraujoch for just 1-day. I know that Swiss Rail offers a 2-day pass but we would not use it entirely (waste of $) as we'd be in Interlaken only 2 days and the 2nd day we will drive around to beautiful small towns in area, leaving for Zurich the next morning.

I welcome any suggestions as we would love to see Jungfraujoch.

Thank you!

Thanks for joining us Mlira28!

There are no 1- or 2-day travel passes that I know of. Please share the links if you've found any. The cheapest option, if you don't mind a fixed time frame for your trip, is the Good Morning or Good Afternoon Ticket, see myswissalps.com/ jungfraujoch/ tickets. The Junior travelcard is the cheaper option for the children. Alternatively there's the Swiss Half Fare Card, but it would not pay off for just the trip to Jungfraujoch. If you expect to include another boat or cable car trip this card does make sense. That would allow you to do a boat trip or visit another viewing point on the second day, instead of or in addition to a trip by car.

Thanks so much for the prompt reply.

On your second option, what are some boat trips and view points that you highly recommend?

You're welcome! Recommended activities can be found here: myswissalps.com/ berneseoberland/ activities. The options depend on when you'll be there, so be sure to check the timetable links on our pages. For example, transportation up to the Brienzer Rothorn is fully operational from June and partly operational in May.
