Hi,
Sorry for the long post.
We have a plan of 10 days trip in Switzerland and we will be staying in Wengen for most of the days(we will check out on the day before our return journey).We will checkout in the morning and thinking of spending the day in Luzern. We wanted to include Mt Rigi in our itinerary and however we don’t want to run around with luggage and toddler if not possible.
We are thinking like,
Option 1: Keep the luggage in Luzern station then take boat from Luzern to Vitznau and train from Vitznau to Mt Rigi.Return back to Luzern then to Zurich.
Option 2: Take luggage with us while travelling to Mt Rigi and keep them in Vitznau station before going up to the mountain. Then while coming back take train directly to Zurich from Arth Goldau. If we going with this option, can we take luggage in boat?
Option 3: Since this round trip takes more than 3 hours, just avoid this and spend time in Luzern town and lake side as we are travelling next day. We are planning to cover Jungfraujoch,Mt Titlis and Schilthorn (if climate permits) during our trip.Since Mt Rigi is different experience, we want to include this round trip as well.
Can you suggest a better option?

As for scenery and comfort when travelling I would also suggest your first option, but all of them work, at the end of the day, check the timetable for detailed timings:
