Hi Raji and welcome to MySwissAlps!
It really depends on all the trips you plan to take in Switzerland (both to/from towns and cable cars etc at the town, like Zermatt).
Plan out all trips by bus, train, cable car, boat etc and use our spreadsheet here to do the math and compare rail passes and normal tickets.
If you aren’t doing much travel it is entirely possible that no rail pass will save you money and you should just buy point to point tickets. Doing the math on the spreadsheet will tell you for sure.

Hi Lucas,
Many thanks! Have prepared the spread sheet.
Two questions:
1.Does the Swiss 1/2 Fare Card cover the complete route from Zermatt to Chamonix ( esp the France side )? I understand we have to buy the ticket before each journey?
2. Can the Swiss Transfer ticket be used on the mountain rail/cable cars in Zermatt. I know this ticket can be used on the first and the last day. Can we use it for the mountain rail/cable cars if on those two days?
Our itinerary is:
3rd June- Zurich to Zermatt
4th June- Stay in Zermatt
5th June -Zermatt to Chamonix.
Kind regards
Raji
