Hi, we will be arriving in zürich 4-23-15, traveling to lucern, on 25 traveling to interlaken, on 27 traveling to lausanne then on to geneva on the 28 for our flight. We might go on a boat trip, might not. Will not be going up any mountains. Would like to do the most for the cheapest we can. Question is what would be the best rail tickets? Point to point or rail?

    Hi zak042401,

Just the town to town train tickets without any day trips like boats would cost about CHF 135. That’s not worth buying any pass for. A Swiss Half Fare Card is the only one you could consider once you’re sure about all your trip details. Have you been to Switzerland before? If not, you would miss some wonderful views if the weather is good and you won’t visit any of the peaks. In Interlaken for example, boat trips and mountain trips is pretty much what people do. There’s not much special to see in town itself. With a Swiss Half Fare Card you would get a 50% discount on such trips.

    Did this help you decide?
