    Hi Ajittipnis,

In the German speaking regions, railway station is “Bahnhof” (note the second h). A bus stop would be called Bushaltestelle. Haltestelle is a more generic word for a stop – either train or bus – but if train it mostly refers to a small station.

Note that the name of the country is Switzerland 🙂

railway station in German is Bahnhof (comes from the two words Bahn and Hof, where Hof = yard/farm/courtyard and Bahn = railway)

There aren’t all that many bus stations in rural Switzerland as in many cases buses leave from outside railway stations.

However in In major cities (Zurich) and large transport hub towns (eg Olten) you get ‘Busbahnhof’. In some places in Switzerland (eg Chur) the main bus terminal might be the ‘Postautostation’.

You also see ‘ZOB’ which is an abbreviaiton of ‘Zentralomnibusbahnhof’
