    Hello

I plan to arrive in Lausanne via train from Paris on 20 April. I have read that it is advisable to buy tickets to mountains after seeing the weather is fine. I was wondering if it then makes sense to buy Swiss Half Fare card also later?

    • Can I buy the Swiss half fare card at Lausanne train station by paying in cash?
    • Does it gets active the same day I buy it?
    • Is there any difference in prices online or buying it physically?
    • Do I need any document (apart from my passport) to buy it? Passport size photos?

    Thanks

    • Yes.
    • Whichever date you nominate.
    • No.
    • Just passport; no additional photo required. It’s most convenient to purchase on line and print at home. Presumably if you don’t go up a mountain you’ll do something else with the “card”
