The Swiss Half Fare Card costs CHF 120 per person in 2022. This price may slightly vary depending on where you buy. Scroll down for all purchase options.

Discounts

  • Swiss Family Card: children, stepchildren and foster children from 6 to 15 (inclusive) travel for free if accompanied by at least one parent with a Swiss Half Fare Card and a discounted ticket. You can get the Swiss Family Card free of charge while ordering a Swiss Half Fare Card. If not accompanied by a parent, please find the options here;
  • Children up to 5 travel along for free. They don't need a Swiss Half Fare Card;
  • There are no special fares for seniors or groups.

You will receive the Swiss Half Fare Card via e-mail. Some retailers still offer shipping of a paper card to your home or hotel, or airport collecting. The e-mail option is the safest and the one we recommend. All you need to do is print the card or store it on your phone.

  • You can buy rail passes at staffed Swiss rail stations. This is only possible during opening hours. These are different for each station.
  • You can buy train tickets for trips in Switzerland from staffed desks and from ticketing machines. The machines offer normal fares and most discounted fares.
